Is it (still) useful to specify that the Village du Soir likes to surprise, amaze, and get off the beaten track? For this, there is no magic ingredient, but one key: innovate. By proposing new concepts, the place not only builds loyalty, but also constantly attracts different audiences. Proof of this is the brand new Wild Groove evening, explained through the eyes of those who made it live until the end of the night: the DJ duo Mozambo.
Can you first introduce yourself?
We live between France and Brazil. The destination gives a clue to our musical DNA, strongly influenced by the "afro" rhythms that we discovered in Brazil and Mexico, mixed with House, Disco, Afro House, Deep sounds. From these very danceable sounds, we created our own style, a mix of afro and our own individual musical references. Today we mix a lot in France and Brazil. Our first concert there was in the heart of the jungle, in an incredible atmosphere, a life-size format of what we experienced at the "Wild Groove" party in September at the Village.
How did you discover the Village?
Corinne, the Marketing Director, is a friend. We had never been there before but when we discovered the place - before the party - we absolutely loved it! All these rooms and different atmospheres, we thought it was great.
Let's come to this first Wild Groove evening, where you were the hosts of a large audience from 1am to 4am. How did you experience this moment?
When we entered the room, we were completely and directly in the mood. The DJ who mixed just before us arrived on stage with a mask with luminous yellow eyes and with a decor made of video and light effects that evoked the "jungle" atmosphere very well. We then slipped in there in turn, and we had a great time.
What did you particularly like about this evening?
It's really a place where we were able to play our entire catalog, because people are very open and were super receptive from the beginning to the very end! What was incredible was to feel the energy of the audience so much, which only intensified throughout the evening. People were even still coming in at 4am. We mixed non-stop for 3 hours because we felt that the audience was 100% present and super curious and motivated to get into the mood with different sounds: House, Disco, Afro House, Deep, all mixed with our touch of Afro sounds. Our large set resonated perfectly with the very diverse audience of the Village. It was really a great evening! The successful programming of this first Wild Groove evening has therefore undeniably validated the concept... on the side of the artists, the audience, and the Village!
