Summer 2023. Geneva woke up again under the influence of the Lake Parade, after 6 years of absence. With more than 150,000 people during the day, 40,000 in the evening, and an incredible atmosphere, the (legendary) event brilliantly succeeded in its return. The Village du Soir and its float reflecting the cultural diversity of the place, can testify to this! Such a success that the Village resigned for this new edition, and even doubled its capacity on its float!
As in 2023, the float of the Village du Soir will be TABOO. Those in the know will understand, for everyone else an explanation is needed: TABOO is the festive hacienda of the Village du Soir, between Mexican street food, Latin-inspired decoration and musical notes in the background. "Our float is TABOO in the open air... and in motion!" comments Corinne, marketing manager at the Village. After the success of its float last year, the Village has decided to double its capacity this year. In total, 150 hand-picked guests will be able to eat and dance during the 4 hours of the parade to the rhythm of the (very) good sounds that have made the Village famous. For Thomas, manager of the Lake Parade, having participants like the Village, representative of the cultural diversity of French-speaking Switzerland, is essential: "The Lake Parade cannot survive without the presence of all these players in cultural and festive life. Not only because the event is built around this representativeness and diversity, but also because we do not receive any subsidies and the Lake Parade is 100% free for the public. " For this new edition, no fewer than 15 floats will parade, between major players in the electro scene, associations, bars, and players in the "festive life" of French-speaking Switzerland. "The success of the 2023 edition acted as a call for new participations, in particular bars that we are delighted to welcome this year". And what does a player like the Village du Soir bring to the Lake Parade? "Its reputation of course, but also its professionalism. Having serious people who produce quality events in Geneva as participants brings additional credit to the image of the Lake" concludes Thomas. See you on Saturday, July 20, 2024 to discover the Village du Soir float and the atmosphere that this unmissable event has in store!
